Getting there and the Civitavecchia terminal
GNV departs from Civitavecchia at the Autostrade del Mare terminal on Molo 20; vehicle access is via the Varco Vespucci. The port lies around 70 kilometres north-west of Rome and is connected via the A12 motorway. Without a vehicle, you can reach Civitavecchia station by regional train from Roma Termini; from the station, port shuttles and taxis take you to the terminal.
Check-in and border processing
For Algeria you need a passport valid for at least six months with a blank page, plus a visa applied for before departure. Foot passengers should arrive at the port with the lead time stated on the ticket; with a vehicle, security and vehicle checks are added, so allow plenty of time. In Annaba, check-in for the return crossing opens ten hours before departure and closes five hours before.
