About Nouris Elbahr Ferries
Nouris Elbahr Ferries is an Algerian ferry operator, founded in 2024 and, by its own account, the country's first private ferry company. Its aim is to make sea travel between Algeria and Europe more accessible and comfortable; its lines connect Algiers and Oran with Marseille and Alicante. In November 2024 the operator launched services from Alicante and, alongside the state-owned Algérie Ferries, became the second Algerian operator serving the Costa Blanca port. Spellings vary: the operator itself writes Nouris Elbahr Ferries, while booking systems list it as Nouris El Bahr Ferries.
Ship and fleet
The operator sails a single ship, the Cracovia. The Ro-Pax ferry was built in 2001 at the IZAR shipyard in Seville, is 180 metres long and offers room for 658 passengers plus around 2,200 lane metres for vehicles - roughly 140 trucks and 90 cars. On board there are cabins with en-suite bathrooms, restaurants with children's menus, cafes, a duty-free shop, a cinema, children's play areas and WiFi.
