Getting there and the Almería terminal

The ferry departs from the Estación Marítima on the Muelle de Levante (Muelle Levante s/n, 04001 Almería). The terminal has ticket counters, an information point, a cafeteria, waiting rooms with WiFi and a duty-free area. By car you reach the port via the A-7, with access via the Pescadería roundabout; for the summer campaign the port provides around 2,500 parking spaces. Without a vehicle, the Estación Intermodal rail and bus station is just a few minutes away.

Check-in and border processing

Under Naviera Armas's conditions of carriage, on conventional ferries you must be checked in for boarding at least 60 minutes before departure with a vehicle, or 30 minutes on foot. Because the route crosses an EU external border, passport, customs and vehicle checks are added on top - allow considerably more buffer time. At check-in you need a valid passport and a visa applied for in advance, a national ID card is not accepted for Algeria.

On board

Naviera Armas runs conventional ferries on the line such as the Almariya or the Volcán de Timanfaya, with space for around 1,000 passengers and 300 vehicles. You can choose between seating lounges and twin or four-berth cabins, inside or outside; a cabin is worth it for the overnight crossings. The self-service restaurant and bar-cafeteria offer halal, children's and gluten-free menus, plus there's a children's area, a dog walking area and, in summer, a pool on deck.

Vehicle, motorhome and pets

Cars, motorbikes and motorhomes travel on the vehicle deck; give the dimensions when booking. Pets travel on the Algeria routes exclusively in the kennels indoors or on deck, on a lead and muzzle when boarding and disembarking; a pet passport and valid rabies vaccination are required. Arrival in Ghazaouet and onward travel

Ghazaouet lies in Tlemcen province in the far west of Algeria, close to the Moroccan border. After docking you go through passport and customs checks; with your own vehicle the road network takes you on to Tlemcen and the Oran coast, and without a vehicle taxis will take you into town.

Tickets and fares

Naviera Armas tiers its cancellation terms: cancel free of charge up to three days before departure, after which the ferry company keeps a growing share; discount fares are excluded from partial refunds. The booking window shows the price for your date, and the timetable shows the departures.
